Ed Mickells, Principal of Thermopylae Marketing LLC, has
nearly three decades of marketing experience.
Ed started his career in business-to-business publishing at Intertec
Publishing (now Primedia Business Magazines & Media). During his 17 years with that company, he served in a variety of roles,
including Marketing Manager of the Book Division, Publisher of three international magazines in its Agribusiness Group, and
as Vice-President, Director of Planning and Development, responsible for strategic planning, new product development, and
mergers and acquisitions.
After leaving Intertec, Ed served as Midwest Region Director of Marketing for the Big Four
accounting firm, Ernst & Young LLP. Here he worked side-by-side with professional services providers and sales consultants
to introduce innovative audit, tax and consulting solutions to a seven state region.
Most recently, Ed was Marketing
Director for Polsinelli Shalton & Welte, PC, (Now Polsinelli Shalton Welte & Suelthaus, PC), one of the Midwest’s fastest
growing law firms. He supervised marketing efforts for the firm’s five offices and created its branding and advertising campaign,
Law In A New Light.
In addition to his professional experience, Ed has a bachelor's degree in Journalism-Advertising
from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and an MBA in Marketing from Rockhurst University.
Through the years, Ed has
gained ample experience in virtually every aspect of product and services marketing and sales. At Thermopylae Marketing LLC,
he offers a broad range of services including practice development training, marketing strategy, branding, advertising, graphic
design, public relations, event management, media training and more.
